How much will I get?

The aim of a personal injury claim is to put you back into the position you would have been in had you not been injured, insofar as compensation can achieve that outcome.

There are two elements to compensation:

  • Compensation for your injuries (valued after obtaining medical evidence); and
  • Compensation for past and future financial losses and expenses, which have already arisen or will arise in the future as a result of your injuries.

The level of compensation can vary dramatically, depending on the severity and duration of your injuries and how those injuries affect you. The value of claims can increase significantly if the injuries are severe enough to warrant claims for items such as past and future care costs, past and future loss of earnings, aids and equipment, medical treatment and adapted accommodation.
